It seems…useless. Well, it’s nonexistent until I put a point into a shield, but that thing doesn’t seem to do anything worthwhile. I’ve had it up and died just as easily from an attack.

Now I have enough stars to buy an actual shield. I’m wondering if that will change things. There aren’t any real descriptions with these items, nor can I test them out.

Can I sell them if I don’t like them?

Stealth seems awesome. Glad I got that one.

So yeah. Can someone explain the block mechanic/shield? I want to know if it’s worth getting before I buy it. Stars aren’t the easiest thing to come by, and I really want a fire sword raspberry Gotta prioritize.

Shield puts up a shield for about 10 seconds.
Flame sword goes through shield and no charge required for attacks.

I have all the up-grades so if anyone else is curious about an persistent perk just ask.

Worth getting then? 10 second shield sounds good. Can I move when it is up?

What’s the cooldown on it?

I’m still iffy on the block mechanics though (right click) Nothing happens until I put a point into bubble or whatever the game calls it. Then I get a small bubble for about three seconds, which doesn’t seem to protect me at all. Not sure what kind of crazy split second timing I need, but I tried not moving and just using it while getting attacked to no avail.

Died quite a bit that round.

Does the purchased shield negate the block in terms of sheer usefulness? Don’t see a whole lot of blocking when I play.

While were at it, what’s the cooldown on the flame sword? Stealth seems to be either thirty seconds or a minute. Something quite short smile

The perk shield prevents everything except someone else with a flame sword (in which case you loose the shield and someone else usually kills you). You can pass through a detonation whilst using this shield.

The shield you purchase within the round lasts longer the more points in it you buy, and lasts longer the more energy you have at the time. At only a single point with only 1 energy it barely lasts 2 seconds, not really enough time to be of any practical help. If you get all 3 points in it and 5 or 6 energy it is very useful.

A flame sword will kill you outright if you have a normal shield, as will a suicide detonation (unless you buy all 10 points in that section for the mega-shield).

Thank you so much for this info! So the reason the talent shield sucks for me is because I’m lolbad and never have much energy because I die a lot!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Also, the flame sword is awesome. Purchased shield is next on my list of things to get.

Shield perks become incredibly effective with a point or two invested in Warning. It’s easier to block if you know when someone is targeting you and attempting to attack.

Yes, I might have to convert my playstyle to that. Right now, I put my first point into jumping so I get another jump.

But I die so much that it’s probably better to play a bit more defensively.
